Who we are

Hello! Marsden Walkers are Welcome is a volunteer-run organisation based in Marsden, West Yorkshire.
We are often out surveying or clearing paths and when we can, leading walks. We also run a walking festival every two years.

As well as that, we have a handful of surveyed and waymarked walks that you can follow with our map leaflets or by downloading the routes as digital files.

What we do

Path Clearing

We sometimes undertake path clearance or path upkeep days where we focus on one or two sections of our waymarked routes.

Guided Walks

Most of our guided walks occur during the Marsden Walking Festival, but we also have Friday Wind Down Walks on the first Friday of the summer months. See our Facebook page for details. These are suitable for everyone with moderate fitness and a basic amount of walking experience.

Walking Festival

We run the Marsden Walking Festival every two years. The next one will be in September 2027. Watch this space!

Walkers are Welcome is a national initiative and we are proud that Marsden is an accredited WaW town.

Walkers are Welcome towns and villages are places that have something special to offer walkers. There are almost 100 Walkers are Welcome towns and villages across Britain.
